The Retro Web is a community driven organisation focussed on archiving and curating PC documentation. This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

What data do we collect?

If you create an account on The Retro Web, we will collect the following personal identification information: ip address, username, email address and password. Additionally, we also store a cookie which remembers your login state. Furthermore we also store any posts and attachments you make in our ticketing system and forum.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide The Retro Web with all of the personal data we collect when you register for a user account. We store the session cookie whenever you log in, by ticking the optional "Remember me" checkbox.

How will we use your data?

The Retro Web collects your data so that we can manage your account on our site. Your data is only used on our site and it is not shared with any other third parties.

How do we store your data?

The Retro Web securely stores your data at Hetzner Gmbh. The Retro Web will keep your account for 1 year after your last login. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by erasing your account and tickets. Public forum posts made under your account will be anonymised rather than deleted, meaning your username and any other identifying information will be removed from those posts while the content itself is retained to preserve the continuity of community discussions.

Marketing

The Retro Web will not send you any information which is not strictly related to your account management.

What are your data protection rights?

The Retro Web would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request The Retro Web for copies of your personal data.
